Current Positions

Job Title: Manager, Makahiya Fitness

Location: Makahiya Fitness Boutique Hotel, Unawatuna, Sri Lanka

Overview:

The Makahiya Manager is responsible for the smooth and successful operation of Makahiya Fitness. You oversee daily operations, guest communication, bookings, and team coordination, ensuring high standards are maintained across every touchpoint. Combining operational leadership with a strong focus on customer experience and sales, this role plays a key part in driving bookings, guest satisfaction, and long-term business growth.

Responsibilities include:

1. Guest Experience & Operations

  • Oversee daily hotel processes, including fitness class scheduling, guest services, logistics, and admin, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish

  • Enhance every guest’s experience by paying attention to feedback, fine-tuning services, and keeping high standards throughout their stay

  • Welcome guests and conduct consultations, anticipating needs and exceeding expectations

2. Team Leadership & Administration

  • Manage customer-facing staff, ensuring clear communication, guidance, and accountability

  • Manage the team rota and ensure adequate coverage across all operational areas

  • Supervise admin tasks with the wider team, such as planning and implementation, scheduling, customer outreach, etc

  • Produce reports based on business performance within specific areas

3. Customer Contact & CRM Management

  • Manage customer enquiries across WhatsApp, Instagram and email

  • Maintain and optimise the CRM database based on customer contact

4. Booking Management & Pre-Arrival Experience

  • Maintain daily booking operations in our online booking system and other internal systems, ensuring accuracy. This includes management of pre-arrival communications and follow ups after they have left

  • Oversee the organisation of pre- and post-arrival guest information, including room setups, allergies, transfers, completed forms, and special requests

5. Ongoing Projects & Operational Improvement

  • Contribute to new initiatives, projects, and improvements to operational processes as needed

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities with high attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with CRM systems, lead management, and customer service

  • Leadership experience with ability to motivate and manage a diverse team

  • Comfortable using AI and other digital tools to improve efficiency

  • Creative problem-solving, adaptability, and professionalism under pressure

  • A passion for health and fitness is a big bonus
